About Me

Do you remember those 6 weeks in high school when they focused on running the mile, those were my least favorite times in gym class.  I was the girl who would use any excuse possible to not have to run.  I was athletic, just not a runner.  I was a dancer and was terrified what running would do to my body because I was so focused on dance and took classes 3-4 times a week and was also on the dance team.  Once college hit, I stopped dancing and stopped doing any form of physical activity, I never really gained the "Freshman 15", but I didn't eat well and I drank too much.  I tried running a few times with my friends as I got further into college because I started to not like my body.  I've always been thin but I started to become "skinny fat".  I hated running in college.  It just wasn't for me.  After my 4 years in Bloomington, Ill. I moved to Seattle and ended up getting married 7 months later, my husband or MRM (My Running Man) has always been a runner, he played soccer in high school and is in the Air Force so running is something he has always done and loved.  I started running really trying to run in 2009 and I'd say I bought my first "real" running shoes that year.  With the stress of moving overseas, it stopped and it took a long time for me to get back into it.  Running around Cambridge, UK was the reason I started running, it was beautiful and people were always outside, whether they were walking, biking, or running the atmosphere was amazing and the campus was a great backdrop.  I don't know why I stopped running, but I did.  In 2013, I decided I really wanted to start running again, specifically because I wanted to do Color Me Rad, I gave myself some time to train and here I am almost a year later still running and loving it, when I'm not injured.  This is my running journal and journey.  I am excited to share it with you and if you have any tips or anything just let me know.
